If you like the lay out of your kitchen, but hate the colour, give us a call to find out if refinishing or refacing is right for you!

What is cabinet refinishing?

Refinishing is taking your existing doors, drawers and frame, and painting them to look new again. Our process involves cleaning, sanding, and painting (priming and top coating) your doors and drawers at our shop and performing the same process on your frame in your home.

What is cabinet refacing?

Refacing is buying new door and drawer fronts and installing them on your existing cabinet boxes. It’s an affordable way to update the look of your kitchen, without tearing it out and starting over. Our process is the same as refinishing, but with new door and drawer fronts. Once you pick your new door and drawer style, we’ll paint everything to be the same colour!

ProsConsProsCons
  • The most durable finish
  • Same product and consistency on doors, drawers and frame
  • Everything must be emptied out of your kitchen
  • A strong paint smell is created during spraying*
  • Dust is created during this process*
  • You will not have use of your kitchen for 1-2 days
  • You do not have to empty your cabinets
  • No strong paint smells
  • Minimal dust from sanding only
  • Most affordable option
  • Not as durable as a spray application finish
  • Two different products are used, which means the colour and sheen can be slightly different**

* We contain and ventilate the work area to minimize the spread of the smell and the dust, as well as clean before completing the project, but you will need to clean and wipe down surfaces after we leave. Dust continues to fall from the air for 48 hours after the last spray.

** The paint industry retains the right to a 10% colour variance with all colour matches. Tinting is done through our paint supplier, and colours will need to be approved before projects are confirmed.
