Kitchen Makeovers specializes in cabinet refinishing. We’re a BC based company and service all over the lower mainland, including Ladner, Delta, and the surrounding area. Let’s go on a journey from start to finish for a project we recently completed in Ladner. It was quite the adventure, and we’re so glad that the completed project was such a success! If you’ve ever wondered what the process for cabinet refinishing and cabinet painting is like, come join this journey and watch the video below!
Cabinet Painting Before and After
Let’s start with some before photos! As you can see, this kitchen was a dark maple, and the customer wanted to brighten things up a bit! The dark brown wood tones were in style at one point, but not anymore. Considering the other tones in the kitchen, a cookie-cutter white kitchen just wouldn’t work for them. But, there’s always a colour that can improve your kitchen, while also working with the other elements you already have in place! Take a look below and see what colours you think would works with this kitchen!
How to Paint Kitchen Cabinets
The process for painting these kitchen cabinets involves first removing all the doors an drawer fronts. They get removed by our technicians and transported back to our shop, where they go through a cleaning, sanding, priming, and painting process. This usually takes about two weeks. After that, we come out to your home for three consecutive days to first prep the area, then clean, sand, and paint the frame. After the frame has been therough the same cleaning, sanding, priming, and painting process that we do at our shop on the doors, the refinished doors are brought back and installed. Then, we clean up after ourselves and we’re done after that! Check out this short video to see the whole process on this house in Ladner!

What do Painted Cabinet Look Like?
As the video above shows, the whole process is quite quick, and we can transform an entire kitchen with only 3 1/2 days in the home! The customer used Benjamin Moore’s OC-8 Elephant Tusk for the main part of the kitchen, and the island is Benjamin Moore 1211 Arizona Canyon at the end. What a transformation!
